behind the curtain

The initial ideas for this project took place in 2008. In 2009 was the 20th anniversary of the wall fall and one year after - the 15th anniversary of the famous Wrapping of the Reichstag by Jean Claude and Christo. The remembrance of these two events laid the foundation for the planned installation in the underground part of the railway station at the Potsdamer Platz.

The city is a place of passage and a railway station is the epitome of it. The sensuous experience to move thru this area makes possible imagination of invisible ones, of absence and presence, of inside and outside, of past and present. At the same time it's a railway station the area, which made possible entering the city and get the most first impression of its hospitality and livability.

In the planned project textile structures, which remind of a curtain, should be projected or attached on the glass walls of the underground part of the railway station and on this way they should form a strong contrast to the stringent structure of the architectural space.
